The Original Cast of Willy Wonka Reunite 44 Years On - Here's What They Look Like Now

44 years after 'Charlie Bucket' and his fellow gold ticket winners captivated audiences with the classic movie, the cast reunite to share some of the set secrets. Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt), Denise Nickerson (Violet Beauregarde), Paris Themmen (Mike Teevee) and Michael Bollner (Augustus Gloop) reunited for an interview on Wednesday.

When asked if they would do it again they agreed. They said when people find out that they've been in Willy Wonka, people smile. They call it the 'Wonka Effect'.
They shared some secrets from being on set with Gene Wilder, now 82 was so patient with all of the kids on set according to the cast.
Although they went their separate ways after the filming ended, they all stayed in touch with each other.
"We all think of ourselves as a family" said Themmen.

Peter Ostrum (Charlie) became a vet in New York and Willy Wonka was the only film he ever made.
Michael Bollner (Augustus Gloop) became a tax accountant in Munich and still holds a striking resemblance to his character Augustus.

Paris Themmen (Mike Teevee) went onto work in TV and film production and casting.
Julie dawn Cole (Veruca Salt) has worked steadily throughout her career on TV in Britain.

Denise Nickerson (Violet Beagregarde) quit acting in 1978 and worked as a nurse and an accountant.
Rusty Goffe (Oompa Loompa) still appears on TV and films. Most notably Harry Potter and Doctor Who.

Gene Wilder is now 82 and will always be best recognised for his role as Willy Wonka.
