E-cigarettes And Other Tobacco Products Including Premium Cigars, Vaporizers And Hookahs Will Be Regulated The Same As Traditional Cigarettes And Smokeless Tobacco

Critics like Gregory Conley, President of The American Vaping Association say the regulations: “will cause a modern-day prohibition of products that are recognized worldwide as far less hazardous than cigarettes. If the FDA’s rule is not changed by Congress or the courts, thousands of small businesses will close in two to three years.”

Retailers Will Be Prohibited From Selling These Tobacco Products To Anyone Under 18, Giving Away Free Samples Or Placing Them In Vending Machines

Age verification by photo ID will also be required to purchase these products.

When Will The New E-Cigarette Rules And Regulations Take Effect?

The new ban on sales to people under 18 will take effect in August, 90 days after the rule is published. Other regulations will take several years as the FDA gives manufacturers and retailers time to adjust.
