If you've ever been so fond of petting your dog that you wished you had fur of your own, small, French company Dog Wool has some good news for you. In a slightly less Cruella de Vil turn of events than expected, they're helping that dream become a reality. The way it works is simple. You brush your dog regularly and save their shed undercoat fur. Then you bag it up and send it to Dog Wool, which will spin it into a thread you can make clothing out of.

The process is not in any way harmful to the dogs, and the resulting sweaters are supposedly very soft and cozy according to Dog Wool owner Doumé Jalat Dehen, who says:

A dog's undercoat is a comfortable material, soft and very warm. It may well compete with mohair and contrary to popular belief, it does not smell nasty.

We have to admit, some of the results are pretty fabulous and they seem not to harm the animals...

This cardigan is impeccably knit, and this dog is impeccably fluffy.

Pretty sure these buttons didn't come from that dog, but they're still pretty fly...

Somehow, it feels like this giant fluffy coat didn't actually take that long to make...

Double the puppy, double the fur, double the length on this cardigan.

But now, we'd like to know...

Would you wear a sweater made of your dog's hair?
% Yes. I want to be as fluffy as my dog is, and it looks cool!
% No. This is creeping me out.
% I have a chihuahua, so this isn't really an option for me.
