School officials in Kingsport, Tennessee have proposed dropping almost all of the sections of the 7th Grade syllabus that mention Islam.
The proposed plan still needs to be approved by the Board of Education, and is still up for public review, but if it passes it would take effect in the next school year.
The proposed new standards are more manageable and age-appropriate
