No one can write decently who is distrustful of the reader’s intelligence or whose attitude is patronizing.
A poet can survive everything but a misprint.
A word is dead,
When it is said,
Some say.
I say it just begins
to live that day.
People do not deserve to have good writing, they are so pleased with bad.
A writer without interest or sympathy for the foibles of his fellow man is not conceivable as a writer.
I don’t care if a reader hates one of my stories, just as long as he finishes the book.
I’ll be writing until I can’t write anymore. It’s a compulsion with me. I love writing.
So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads.
If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.
Congratulations!
