Is This The End Of Axel On Van Helsing?

In the episode Help Out, Vanessa and crew must flee "The Farm" to escape the deadly radiation. Doc and Axel stay behind to find Gorman. so he can escape too. When they find Gorman, he is altered from the radiation. Doc is so afraid she locks the quarantine area and sees Gorman beat Axel down before running to join the others.. We are then left wondering is he alive or dead?
