The female gorilla was born to just before midnight on Feb. 25. It’s the first birth of an endangered western lowland gorilla at the zoo in 11 years, and the fifth ever in the zoo’s history. The species can grow up to five and a half feet tall and weigh between 300 and 500 pounds.
