Five Things You Didn't Know About Paula Zahn

After graduating with a degree in journalism in the late 1970s, Paula went on to work at several local stations across the US for the next decade, including stints in Dallas, Boston, and Los Angeles.

Her first day on the job at CNN was a memorable one – September 11th 2001. She started off as a contributor on various shows for the network, before getting her own show, Paula Zahn Now, in 2003. She left CNN in 2007.

Paula is mother to daughter Haley and sons Jared and Austin, with her ex-husband Richard Cohen.

She attended university at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri on a cello scholarship, and she has played the instrument at the famed Carnegie Hall.

Zahn's apartment block on the Upper East Side of New York City has been home to Pale Male, a red-tailed hawk that has become one of the city's most famous residents over the last 25 years. Pale Male and his mate still nest at the building.
