Taylor Swift has a history of donating money to charity, especially after disasters have occurred.
She's previously given money to the Red Cross in Iowa after a 2008 flood, gave to a fund to help those in need after the Nashville flood in 2010 and performed a benefit concert for victims of the tornadoes in the southeast in 2011.
More than 60,000 people have registered for disaster aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency due to the flooding.
More than 40,000 homes have been damaged and the governor has declared this to be a state of emergency. To help, the Red Cross is taking volunteers and there are many other funds set up to provide aid to those affected.
