Like my lightsaber quiz, I need this question: Who is your favorite character of the below?
How many lightsabers would you want to wield?
Form I: Shii-Cho
Form I: Shii-Cho
Shii-Cho is the first lightsaber form ever taught to Jedi when they are Younglings. It is the oldest and the simplest form of combat.
Form II: Makashi
Form II: Makashi
Makashi originated when Jedi started having to fight the Sith. It's all about footwork and precision. Many say it is the most elegant form of lightsaber combat.
Form III: Soresu
Form III: Soresu
Form III is used against blasters and for tight spaces. It focuses on remaining calm.
Form IV: Ataru
Form IV: Ataru
Ataru is a very acrobatic and offensive form. It relies on one channeling the Force for leaps and spins. To inexperienced duelists, Form IV looks like a blur of motion and lightsaber. It tires its owner quickly.
Form V: Shien/Djem So
Form V: Shien/Djem So
Born out of Form III: Soresu, Shien is used to send a blaster bolt back to its owner, thus turning the tide from defense to offense.
Also from Soresu, Djem So is the same principle as Shien but for lightsaber duels, not deflecting blaster shots.
Form VI: Niman
Form VI: Niman
The easiest form to master, Niman is a combination of Shii-Cho (basic training), Makashi (dueling), Soresu (defense against blasters), Ataru (Force-enhanced combat), and Shien/Djem So (turning the attack back on the attacker). It has no strengths or weaknesses. Form VI is good for wielding two lightsabers.
Form VII: Vaapad/Juyo
Form VII: Vaapad/Juyo
Juyo is the Sith's way of combat. It channels the dark energy of oneself to fight better. Juyo is used to cause chaos and make unpredictable movements to confuse enemies.
Vaapad is a variant of Juyo in which one sends the dark energy of their opponent back on them.
Both forms are dangerous for Jedi because they are very close to the Dark Side.
