The Differences Between Robb Stark's Wife in the Books and Show: Who is Better?
The Differences...
If you've read any of the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books, you'll know Robb Stark's story is quite different than the HBO series.
In the books, he's married to Jeyne Westerling, and in the show, he's married to Talisa Maegyr. As the Game of Thrones Wiki points out, Talisa Maegyr isn't the TV version of Jeyne Westerling: she is the TV series' "replacement" for Jeyne Westerling.
Jeyne, the daughter of the castle's lord, nurses Robb back to health when he is wounded, then has sex with him when he finds out his brothers were murdered. Without thinking, Robb then must marry Jeyne to protect her honor.
Talisa is a battlefield medic and healer, following the Stark army.
Fans initially believed Talisa was the same as Jeyne, but soon realized that wasn't the case.
Writer Bryan Cogman explained the change of characters, saying, "In the case of this I think it was less about that and more about the idea of Robb falling in love with the last person he would ever expect."
If you haven't read the books, go do it so you can compare the two!
