On the focus of politics in America:
From the Republican Party dealing with Donald Trump as the presumptive GOP presidential nominee to Hillary Clinton being highly scrutinized because of her past, the political campaign for the 2016 presidency has been more of an entertainment show than a presidential race, for not just the U.S. but for also the world.
On Democrats' gun control sit-in:
House Democrats staged a sit-in to demand a vote on legislation for gun control. There is still much controversy over gun ownership with every mass shooting that occurs. Worried about the future of gun ownership/rights, many people flock to gun shops in case they won't be able to in the future.
On the Cleveland Cavaliers' 1st championship win:
LeBron James and the Cavaliers beat the Warriors 3-4 to bring home the championship title to Cleveland, the first for the city. After leaving Cleveland to join the Miami Heat in 2010 (and winning championships 2 years later in 2012 and 2013), fans felt betrayed and even went as far as burning his jersey. So, this win might've played a significant part in Cleveland fans willing to accept the "king" back to their city.
On controversy over Supreme Court rulings:
53 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech to a quarter of a million people. He had a dream that one day, no one will be "judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Unfortunately, that day has yet to come, and there is no better proof of this than what lies within our own justice system. When a case is brought to court, it is because there is a demand for justice. It is true that in many cases, race plays a huge role in the outcome and because of this, most people do not receive a fair trial. Some people get off far too easy, while others get unnecessarily harsh sentences. Is justice really justice?
On ISIS:
ISIS recruiters have been successfully tapping into and brainwashing the minds of really anyone with internet access, using propaganda to lure people hoping for a "better life." As you know, the Grim Reaper symbolizes death, which emphasizes the point that if you decide to go this route, you may never get out.
On how the Republican Party is dealing with Trump as its presumptive nominee:
Members of the GOP who reluctantly support Trump because he is the presumptive Republican nominee are doing so to prevent another Democratic win. They once were highly critical of and said they'd never support someone like Trump, but there remains no other choice to secure a Republican win. Maybe it won't be as bad as it seems, right?
On white privilege and the judicial system:
It has been shown time and time again that white privilege is a real thing, and it still continues to plague our nation. As a nation, we cannot accept the fact that two people of the same background, committing the same crime, with the only difference being the color of their skin, get two completely different, opposing sentences. It makes absolutely no sense and we can't pretend it doesn't exist.
On the trustworthiness of the presumptive presidential nominees:
Voters are having difficulty deciding which candidate is fit to run this country and even more difficulty putting their trust in either of them. If there's a reason to be able to trust one candidate a little more than the other, then perhaps it's better than nothing.
