A posse of officers ambushed and killed you and your sweetie, however, your enduring appeal to the public imagination continues to live on.

You are Belle Starr, a notorious American outlaw who associated with the James-Younger gang. Marrying a Cherokee man named Sam Starr, you settled in with the Starr family and learned the ways of organizing and planning for horse thieves and bootleggers, also harboring them from the law. You were arrested and charged with horse theft, serving 9 months in jail while your poor husband was assigned to hard labor. After getting out of jail, your husband was killed in a gunfight, putting an end to your life as an outlaw. Your death some two years later, is one of mystery. Ambushed during a ride home from a neighbor's house, you were shot several times but the killer(s) were never found.
