FIRST OF ALL! You're just a beginner. You should watch more animes. Start with the basics like - Mew Mew Power; Mirmo; Lucky Star; Sailor Moon; and those stuff even if it's a lil' girly. If you gonna watch: Death Note; Elfen Lied; Claymore; Another; You're gonna do a REAL mess. So start slowly I bet one day you will be a TRUE otaku. ^^
