Stranded - A Mars Adventure: Helpful tips for newbies

Take your time to play the first levels thoroughly. They help you to get a feel for Stranded’s gameplay and become familiar with the little astronaut’s movement on Mars.

Timing is everything! In many situations, even a delay of one millisecond can be enough to completely throw you off the track.

Somersaults and slides are great fun! Plus, they look cool and help you keep your pace after long drops down. But if you use them for no reason, you may roll by under a nut or oxygen bottle without collecting it.

There are parts of Mars that are pretty winding and obscure… sometimes the way out of a pit or around an obstacle is hidden by shades, roots or alien vegetation.

When in doubt, rather collect an oxygen bottle that keeps you going than a nut that fills your wallet.

Quite often, you have to activate your jetpack and soar off into the unknown. In such cases, you can use the nuts along your way for orientation. They tell you where you are going to land and how to pace your flight.

The further you progress, the harder it will be to survive with only basic gear. So whenever you have got some spare nuts, you’d better invest them in a new suit or an upgrade of your oxygen, life or jump meter.

Activate ghost mode and race against your shadow to learn from your previous mistakes and constantly improve your records and star ratings.

Upgrading your suit is always fun… it will allow you to jump higher, slide faster and resist longer falls down. But some particularly tricky jumps also require an older model with less power and force.
