Jim Carrey was a Hollywood legend long before he starred as the Christmas-hating Grinch. He even portrayed another opponent of Christmas; the ill-tempered Ebenezer Scrooge in 2009's Disney's A Christmas Carol.

The Grinch was only a stepping stone for Taylor Momsen. The 22-year-old was only 7 when she starred as Cindy Lou Who. She now fronts the rock band, The Pretty Reckless and is currently signed to IMG Models.

Since her role as the competitive Christmas decorator Betty Lou Who, Molly Shannon has gone on to star in a plethora of other films and television shows including, Glee, Kath and Kim and Bob's Burgers.

After appearing as Martha May, the woman who helped get The Grinch's blood flowing, Christine Baranski went on to star in several critically acclaimed musicals including Chicago, Mamma Mia! and Into the Woods. She also currently stars on two of CBS' biggest shows The Big Bang Theory and The Good Wife.

Though Jeffrey Tambor's filmography stretches back nearly four decades, most people today will know him from his iconic portrayal of George Oscar Bluth Sr. on the hilarious comedy series Arrested Development, which came shortly after his portrayal Mayor Augustus May Who in The Grinch.

Since his role as Whobris, Mayor Augustus May Who's insane assistant, Clint Howard has gone on to have roles in Cinderella Man and Fost/Nixon. Howard is an avid golfer and a World of Warcraft gamer.

If you're familiar with Fox's long running drama Bones, then you certainly recognise T.J. Thyne from his role as Dr. Jack Hodgins. The same year Thyne starred as Stu Lou in The Grinch, he also had roles in Erin Brockovich and What Women Want.

Jeremy Howard has continued to act since starring as Cindy Lou's annoying big bro in The Grinch. Since then, Howard has guest starred in various television series including Entourage and Breaking Bad. Howard is currently working on the 2016 sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell.
