Just over three months ago, Kathy Beale made a shocking reappearance - over a decade since her last appearance and nine years after she was supposedly killed in a car crash.

Perhaps Kathy got herself into a sticky situation and, for the good of her safety, was admitted to witness protection?

Insurance scam gone wrong...?

Kathy was coerced into 'faking' her death for a windfall, only for it to backfire spectacularly.

Gangsters?!

Kathy has been forced to fake her death to 'take a hit' for gangster who wants her dead or wants revenge on Gavin - presumably if she hadn't 'died' they would have come after Ian and Ben instead, hence the deceit.

Maybe Kathy has broken the law in some way and has faked her death to escape a long prison sentence in a South African jail.

Could Gavin have mentally abused Kathy, somewhat like Lucas Johnson did to Denise Fox?!
