As a worship leader and Christian guitar instructor I have had many conversations with students and fellow Christians about my faith and what I feel is spiritually required of a worship leader or Christian guitar lesson instructor.
Before even thinking about taking Christian guitar lessons, you may have a few questions about your 'right' to even be a worship leader.
There will never be a time in your life where you, your heart, is completely free from sin-not on this side of heaven. If you ever feel like you've reached that place, then you are probably suffering from either delusion or the sin of pride.
Now, does that mean that you shouldn't strive to keep yourself from sin?
We should always be working toward avoiding sin and ridding our lives of sinful patterns that we tend to repeat. That is a large part of the Christian journey. But to say, or think, that you cannot do the work of God as a preacher of worship leader would exclude all of us, all the time.
Let me say, though, that a regular, daily even, time of confessing sin before God and seeking forgiveness is a wonderful, resurrecting chords and Biblical practice to get into.
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
So, learn your Christian guitar chords and worship guitar songs knowing that God is a God of forgiveness and welcomes you as another herald of His kingdom.
