The "Event Leaper" Leap Day Geocacher
sarahmur lives in Dublin, Ireland, and plans to attend two events. "The first is 'GC68VMF Winter Morning Insanity (Part 2)' which is being held on the beach at 5 am! The CO loves to get people out of bed early but his events are always popular. Then I will head to work for the day then attend 'GC66JYW Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards' hosted by another friend in a pub on my route home." If you see her, make sure to congratulate her on her recent engagement!
The "Eat/Breathe/Sleep Everything Geocaching" Leap-Day Geocacher
Kokohawk geocaches everyday and spends more time thinking about geocaching than anything else. For Leap Day, he plans to get one of every kind of geocache that is available in his area, and plans to attend as many of the seven events. The first one starts at midnight! In his own words, "I even took the day off work so that I could enjoy a day of geocaching. I figure if I can get at least one of every kind of cache that it will cover me for any challenges that I come across that have anything that have to do with Leap Day. Not only that, but it will also complete my 366 day calendar. I've been looking at that empty spot for too long now and it will be nice to finally have it all filled in."
The "Attend an Event AND Hide a Geocache" Leap Day Geocacher
Erenee7 lives in the state of Iowa (but this photo was taken near Geocaching HQ in Seattle), and plans to attend 'GC698BA Leap Into Lunch With Some Pizza', then hide a cache. Why? "Just because there aren't many hidden on Leap Day." We love that adventurous spirit!
The "Maybe a New One Will Pop Up Somewhere, or Maybe I'll Drive Four Hours" Leap Day Geocacher
Team Arrowrat has found all the local geocaches in their little slice of the UK where they live, but are hoping some new ones get published in time to find on Monday. If not, they plan to travel as far as it takes to find one so they don't miss the date.
The "Leap Day is a Special Day for Geocaching - and I Mean Really, Really Special Day" Leap Day Geocacher
Olson477 is from Denmark. For him, Leap Day is for geocaching, and celebrating his wedding anniversary. Did we mention his wife is not a geocacher? He says, "But, I plan to find one traditional and one event cache that day. Hopefully I will get 2 countries on the day, too. Luckily, I have a very understanding wife."
