VR is here, but it's been burdened by wires on the headsets and having to be tied to a PC. HP looks to solve all those problems with their new HP OMEN X Desktop VR Backpack. The only catch is you'll need the OMEN X Compact Desktop to strap to your fancy backpack to take the VR experience on the go.
Sure, this brings up a number of issues in its own right (please don't play near a street), the idea of freedom is a nice one. The Omen X includes two batteries that attach at the wait to allow you to play for extended periods of time.
Each battery holds one hour of charge, so that playtime isn't long (the OMEN X Compact Desktop itself also holds a charge), but if you want to get into VR and don't want to be tied to your desktop PC, the HP OMEN X Desktop VR Backpack might be right up your alley. Just remember that you'll need the special PC too!
It's not often that I look at a kids toy and get jealous, but looking at the Actev Arrow Smart-Kart makes me wish I was a kid again. This electric go-kart is far more than the underpowered "Power Wheels" that we had as kids.
The Actev Arrow Smart-Kart doesn't just look cool, but it also comes with a number of cool features. The app that goes along with the car lets parents be in control by letting them adjust kart speed and the area in which it can function.
You can crank up the speed and range as your child gets better driving. And when you totally let go, this thing can reach up to 12 miles per hour. The kart also packs two 250W electric motors with a battery that can provide between 20 to 40 minutes of drive time.
Remember back when having a PDA was a big deal? In the age before smartphones, the idea of a computer that fits in the palm of your hand was a novel one. Well, Gemini wants to bring those days back with the Gemini PDA.
Being dubbed an integrated keyboard mobile device, the Gemini PDA fits in your pocket and features 4G and WiFi, an ultra-wide 5.99" hi-res screen, and full tacticle keyboard. Gemini wants to bring the keyboard back to mobiles device to allow for more use than a typical smartphone.
From bloggers and creatives that need to constantly write (count us in that catergory), to professionals who need to read and write e-mail, create and edit documents and spreadsheets. The Gemini is gorgeous and is based on a 10-core state-of-the-art mobile processor
Hp is such an interesting company. They quietly been rebuilding their imagine, and in the process has taken a number of risks with their varied range of desktop PCs. No longer do they only sell those boring, boxy towers of the past.
The HP Pavilion Wave Desktop is such a PC with its slick look. But it's more than a pretty face as the Wave and its triangular design is intentional, offering up a full 360 degrees of sound. The audio is pushed upwards and the vent opening also serves for cooling.
Featuring a sixth gen Intel processor, up to 16GB of RAM, 2TB, USB 3.1 Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort and more, the HP Pavilion Wave Desktop isn't all that shabby. If you want a PC that is all about design with the power to match, the Wave should satisfy.
Portable gaming just got a little bit smaller with the PocketSprite Portable Retro Gaming Device. This little Game Boy like device is small enough to fit on a key-chain and can be loaded with all sorts of games.
This little emulation console can handle all the classic consoles including Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gamegear and Master System. Simply load up your favorite roms via WiFi and you have the perfect time killer in your hands.
The whole thing is open source and you can even order it in a kit version so you can build it yourself as a fun little project. Just don't expect to play any RPG on this thing unless you have some incredible eyes!
