bikini bottom

bikini bottom

Bikini Bottom seems to mostly be made up of scrap metal and whatever stuff falls down from the surface. No body know how they got there. This seems to allude to the fact that undersea life is mostly scrap living wherein a stable sea-wide society has not yet, or may never be formed. The structures of the buildings in the main part of town have a relatively wavy structure, probably due to undersea currents. These buildings may be apartments. The homes that are made of different items from the surface may be a more residential or suburban area, possibly close to Goo Lagoon and Jellyfish Fields. In the episode Bubblestand (in the aerial view when Squidward is floating away) behind the neighborhood, but it's unknown what it is. It could possibly be another neighborhood because a road goes through a medium sized arch. Three buildings are there: two regular (with roads connecting to each of their doors) another building is seen over there: a large building that's shaped like a low (in height) cylinder with something atop and what appears to be a window. Another building a few hundred feet to the east is seen. It appears to be a pavilion of some sort with three sections and a small road (thinner than the usual road) leading to it. These buildings don't appear again in the series.

Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom is a small city in a deep sea trench located beneath Bikini Bottom and appeared in the episode, "Rock Bottom." The road between the two cities is so perfectly vertical that it can only be accessed by a bus or balloon.

Sunlight doesn't reach this part of the water, so everything is always pitch black except for a few street lights. Signs are written in a language based on English except with the letters distorted, inverted, or in a different orientation. The soil is a green, living sludge that can talk. The residents of Rock Bottom are bioluminescent and appear strange and monstrous, being based on real-life creatures found in the deepest areas of the ocean.

They do speak English, except they blow a raspberry at the start, middle, and/or end of a sentence. Rock Bottom made a second appearance in the "SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D" theme park 4-D ride.

The entry area of Rock Bottom contains a "Kandy" machine. The road that leads back to Bikini Bottom and restrooms, although foreigners cannot tell which is the men's room and which the women's due to the weird symbols used to mark them, and are unable to determine the genders of the inhabitants.

Tentacle Acres

Tentacle Acres

Tentacle Acres is the gated community in which Squidward Tentacles briefly lived in for part of the episode Squidville. It has a high-tech security system, designed to make sure that no sponges, starfish, or any other non-squid species go in; through this, it is implied that all residents moved there to escape from annoying sponges and starfish like SpongeBob and Patrick. All the houses are in rows of the same Easter Island Head Squidward lives in. Some of its features include a Health Depot selling Canned Bread, an interpretive dance academy, a scenic park, a bike path, a bandstand where a clarinet trio performs, and a quick service cafe kiosk (French style).

Dead Eye Gulch

Dead Eye Gulch

It is unknown when the settlement was established. During the western days an Easterner, Dead Eye Plankton, ravaged the town of its property and assumed ownership of each building until only the Krusty Kantina remained. When SpongeBuck arrived in town for a fry cook job, he was unwillingly appointed as sheriff. However, when he actually did defeat Dead Eye, Dead Eye Gulch returned to Bikini Gulch and developed to its modern structure.

New Kelp City

New Kelp City

The city has gray skyscrapers visible from far away. The city revealed closer is messy with broken windows and seedy, dirty streets, including the sign that reads "No Bubbles Allowed by Order of the Bubble Poppin' Boys." Not many people are seen walking in streets and no moving boats are visible. Many people are probably hiding from the notorious gang known as The Bubble Poppin' Boys, who ruled the town with an iron fist. Blowing bubbles is not allowed in the city because it gives the gang red eyes from a popped bubble. If anyone is seen blowing bubbles, they are in trouble with the gang. It is not too far from Bikini Bottom. The area must be cold, since SpongeBob was warming near a fire in a barrel. The tallest skyscraper in the view may be a parody of the Empire State Building. It is next to Tentacle Acres and Bass Vegas. Though not necessarily correct, the city appears to be the capital of the Pacific Ocean where the city (New Kelp City), Bass Vegas, Rock Bottom, and Bikini Bottom are located. It also has a news station.

Atlantis

Atlantis

Atlantis is a city that is believed to have been lost long ago where all the good sea creatures stay in the afterlife, which makes it the underwater equivalent to heaven and the opposite of "Davy Jones' Locker." However, it remains intact, and is currently ruled by Lord Royal Highness.

Atlantis lol
The first time it was shown was in the episode "Neptune's Spatula." The Atlantis here looked different from the city in "Atlantis SquarePantis." They either have drastically advanced in technology in the space between the two episodes or they are two different places all together. Atlantis, as seen in Neptune's Spatula, could simply be named after Atlantis in Atlantis SquarePantis and be where King Neptune resides as he rules over Bikini Bottom. Atlantis, as seen in Atlantis SquarePantis, is the mythical Atlantis itself and have no relation to Bikini Bottom at all. The royal government was totalitarian.
The inhabitants in Atlantis SquarePantis have put away all weapons in an immense vault, and maintain a monarchy, seeing how the Lord Royal Highness is their kind. The Atlanteans traveled countless light years from their home planet, and brought the oldest bubble on the journey, living over a million years. The Atlanteans took great advances in weapons, wealth, science, art, and things that people took for granted in Bikini Bottom today.

Bass Vegas

Bass Vegas

Bass Vegas is a bustling city and is much larger than Bikini Bottom and makes two appearances in "Have You Seen This Snail?" and Bikini Bottom Brawlers. It consists of numerous shops, casinos, and stores such as hotels, one of which is entitled Sleep. There is a coffee shop called Last Chance Coffee, another store called Appliances, a nail salon, another store called Acron Hats, a police station called Bass Vegas Police Department, a super casino called Dinky Fudd's Clam Casino and Mega Mackerel Hotel, a jail called Bass Vegas Jail, another casino called Hotel Octoxor and a tea parlor, and a restaurant called Good To Eat. The city also is home to Granny.
