How to Add Old Receipts into Your Pro Xtra
The Home Depot’s Pro Xtra loyalty program is beneficial in a number of ways; it is a quick and easy method for accessing your recent purchase data. Then, using HammerZen, you upload that information into QuickBooks so you can assess your company’s profitability via job costing and spending reports. All you have to do is make a purchase with your Pro Xtra account (whether that be by using a card linked to your account or providing other information, such as an email or phone number) and Pro Xtra saves all of your receipts for twenty-four months! Easy peasy.
Sometimes, though, it is not so easy. You might be running late or rushing through your checkout, and in your haste you forget to use the right card or provide the right email. And then… your purchase does not get uploaded into your Pro Xtra, thereby skewing your data and damaging the accuracy of your reports. Because your reports are inaccurate, you incorrectly estimate the cost of the next project, and then you overspend, and so on and so forth, until you eventually go bankrupt and the world bursts into flames--!
It is not that serious. If you happen to forget to link your Pro Xtra account at the checkout, you can simply upload the purchase later on using the receipt. There are two separate methods: one for in-store purchases and one for online purchases.
IN THE STORE
If you make a purchase in The Home Depot, you should have either a physical receipt or an e-Receipt if you opted to have it emailed to you. The first thing you need to do is locate that receipt, and then just follow the few steps below!
- Log in to your Pro Xtra account
- Choose Purchase Tracking on the left menu
- Click on Add Store Receipt above the Purchases section
- Enter the necessary information located on your receipt, including:
- Store Number
- Register Number
- Transaction ID
- Pre-Tax Amount
- Sales Date
- If you have more than one receipt, you can them altogether by clicking the + Add More button
- Once you are done entering the information, click on Add Receipts

ON THE WEB
The steps for adding online purchases are very similar; the primary difference is just the information you need to enter into Pro Xtra. If you made a purchase online, you should have an e-Receipt in your inbox. Once you find your receipt, follow the instructions below to add it into Pro Xtra.
- Log in to Pro Xtra
- Click on the Purchase Tracking tab on the left menu
- Above the Purchases, click Add Online Receipt
- Enter the information located on your eReceipt, including:
- Order Number
- Order Date
- If you have more than one receipt, you can add them all at once by clicking the + Add More button on the bottom
- Once you have filled out each field, click on Add Receipts
