He is Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, and here's ten facts about this big-haired wonder:
He descends from Switzerland
Giorgio was born in Switzerland in 1978 and is of Greek-Austrian heritage.
He speaks many languages
He is fluent in English, Greek, German, French and Italian. It is unknown whether he also speaks Klingon.
He started out as a sports promoter
After completing his bachelor's degree in sports and communications at Ithaca College in New York, he worked as a bodybuilding promoter, including for Mr Olympia.
He then discovered aliens
Following five years in the sport promoting world, he discovered the Ancient Alien Astronaut Theory. He met and studied under Chariots of the Gods author, Erich von Daniken and has since become Director of von Daniken’s Ancient Alien Society (formerly A.A.S. R.A. – Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association).
He's a magazine publisher
Giorgio publishes the online and print journal Legendary Times, which "is the only publication in the world to exclusively report about the Ancient Astronaut theory."
He's cool with being a meme
Unlike some meme stars, Giorgio is surprisingly cool with being a meme sensation. He addressed his meme popularity on a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" session saying, "I think it's a great honor to have been embraced by the interwebz, worldwide,” he says. “I really think that it just shows that—it doesn't show anything, but it shows that people embrace the show. I think it's wonderful, the fan-base, I have the best fans in the world."
His hair is a work of art
Giorgio openly admits that while his hair is magnificent, it is not entirely au natural. Again writing on Reddit he said, “Oh. It's definitely styled,” he says. “I mean, it's lots of hairspray.”
He's seen a UFO
Not only does he study, believe in and broadcast his love for UFOs, but he's also seen one. His story goes, "On August 8, 2014, along with 26 other people, with night-vision goggles, in Joshua Tree at the Contact in the Desert Conference around midnight, where we saw stars inside the Big Dipper, which obviously didn't belong there, and after 10 minutes of observing those two stars, they began to move equidistant from each other up into space, or into darkness of the night sky."
He believes aliens are within us
According to Giorgio, we could all have alien DNA. He explains, "according to the Ancient Astronaut theory, all of us already have alien DNA within us. Because the Ancient Astronaut theory suggests that at some point, our human genetic makeup was deliberately changed by a targeted, artificial mutation of our genes."
He accepts that people think he's crazy
When asked how he feels about people thinking he's crazy he responded, "That's perfectly fine...Because if - in this day and age - asking questions means that you're crazy? Then I admit, I am the craziest of them all."
