Concrete Testing Using Geotechnical Software
Concrete Testing Using Geotechnical Software
Concrete testing actually includes different methods for testing such as- testing for concrete moisture, surface areas, and concrete within the slab. One common method is moisture meters which is used for finding surface with higher moisture. Though, this method can’t be pursued when are to obtain a quantifiable value of the moisture or we are to indicate whether the slab is sufficiently dry to start covering.

In case you are confused how to do the concrete testing for moisture, you can save yourself some trouble by hiring online concrete testing services.
How Geotechnical Software is used for the Concrete Test?
Before you begin with any concrete testing service for testing, it is very crucial to make sure that the building’s environment remains consistent at least 48 hours before the test. It is done to allow the slab to reach a steady equilibrium with favorable conditions of the building. The ideal temperature should be whatever the plant initially emits during any regular operation. This is because it feeds the accurate date to the geotechnical software and that information can be later utilized in the lab.
Concrete Testing Methods Certified by ICRI:
Three methods that are covered by ICRI are-
1) Calcium chloride test for moisture vapor emission rate of a slab.
2) The surface relative humidity test.
3) The slab internal relative humidity test.
Here we are defining the most popular test with calcium chloride.
Quick Tip: You can always opt for concrete testing services to avoid the hassles for yourself.
Calcium Chloride Test
This is the most popular test to decide if a floor is ready for the coverings or not. The calcium chloride test is used to measure the MVER of the slab which is mainly the amount of water in the vapor form emitting from the surface. While performing the test, the usage of testing kit is recommended that is compatible with geotechnical software so as to transfer data instantly.
The test is conducted using a small bowl of dry bone calcium chloride. Later, that bowl is placed under a plastic dome for 60 to 72 hours. The Calcium Chloride absorbs all moisture from the concrete for accurate measurement that was emitted in the form of vapors.
