As an artist of both music & dance consistency is very key to me as well as quality to keep me inspired. A lot of my inspiration stems from these 15 artist either if im listening or dancing to it.

This is NOT a top DJ list, its who is the most raw to me when it comes to creating the music either an original mix or remixed, as well as diversity.

Theo Parrish (Chicago/Detroit)

Theo Parrish grew up on Chicago house parties. He went to art school in Kansas City, and then moved to Detroit. His eclectic DJ sets in Detroit in the late '90s and early in this millennium are legendary. "Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or DJ. Everything else stems from that core, that love. With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage.

Larry Heard (Aka Mr. Fingers) (Chicago)

Larry Heard is one of the originators and one of the greats of Chicago house music. He emerged publicly in 1985 from the roots of "House Music", with the debut single "Mystery of Love". This domain is where he found an outlet for his musical ideas. Most people who have followed his music think of him as a multi-keyboardist, but a little known fact it that his development was as a drummer and percussionist in local Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Reggae bands dating back to 1977.

Henrik Schwarz (Germany)

Henrik Schwarz was born and raised in South Germany where he also took his first musical steps as a DJ in local Clubs playing Rap, Hip Hop, Rare Groove and Jazz and Detroit Techno. Soon after he started to spin regularly he was also interested in computer music production and started to do his own productions in 1992 with a few drum machines and synths. When he got his first Laptop in 1998 he started to integrate it into his DJ-Sets and soon the Laptop played an important role in all his music activities. The software got better and better and Henrik was enjoying the new possib​ilitie​s.

Trinidadian Deep (London)

Trinidadian Deep (P​rescri​ption Record​s) Trin​i, now based in New York, is that rare breed of Deep Soulful House producer and DJ, who actually plays very spiritual deep music ! Having been taken under the wing of Chicago master RON TRENT, with whom he spentless countless hours learning his music production craft and skill - he was also helped by Yoruba Soul artist OSUNLADE and has slowly built up a solid reputation as an honest and truly authentic Deep House musician.

Osunlade (St. Louis)

Osunlade is a gifted and respected deep house / nu-jazz producer and DJ. Growing up in a musical environment, he knew music would rule his life. As a teenager in the 70s, he joined the cast of Sesame Street and later began producing music for the show. An ordained priest of the African religion of Ifá, Osunlade's spirituality can be heard in the tribal percussion and even Latin and Brazilian rhythm influences of his music.

DJ Qu (New Jersey)

Ramon Lisandro Quezada - aka DJ Qu - first came to international prominence with his offering on the seminal “Expressway EP ” on TS records (2006). His Strength music imprint was launched in 2005 and continues to garner interest from record buyers, DJ’s and press alike . His “Rainy Daze” track remains one of the highlights on the highly collectible Unity Kolabo double compilation, on Jus Ed’s “Underground Quality” label .

Jay Daniel (Washington/Detroit)

Jay Daniel, a Washington DC native was born in 1990 and moved to Detroit at the age of two. He began as a percussionist playing drums at the age of three. Since his youth, Jay has been deep into exploring music, from go-go to hip hop to jazz, and house; in high school he was the drummer for his school’s gospel choir. Jay formed an interest in DJ’ing when he was 11 years old, after listening to DJ’s on radio stations such as WJLB.

Aybee (Oakland)

A product of Oakland, CA, AYBEE comes from a steep family tradition of Soul, Rebellion, and Exploration. Born from “The Struggle” he developed a strong affinity for music’s link to social movement. Experiencing first hand the power of music’s ability to help people transcend the often-unforgiving streets of Oakland. It is that uplifting power of music, and dance that ultimately pushed AYBEE to embark on the exploration of himself as an artist.

DJ Jus Ed (New York)

In the early eighties faithfully tuning in to WBLS with Frankie Crocker, Jus-Ed embarked on his professional DJ career in 1982, starting out playing the music of the times – freestyle, house, and r&b – but retiring in 1985. Upon his return in 2001, DJ Jus-Ed teamed up with DJ Vic Money, to create the Underground Quality signature under which they began producing parties at venues such as Ludlow Bar and Smithfields in the Lower East Side of New York. The Underground Quality Radio Show held a cult-like state with producers and record fiends alike tuning in each an every Wednesday to sample some of that quality deep house that he has become known and loved for the world over. With his label of the same name, Jus-Ed has released music from his peers Levon Vincent, Anton Zap, DJ Qu and some other deep house soldiers.

Ron Trent (Chicago)

A perennial presence in music since the early 90's, Ron Trent pulls no punches! Considered to be one of the architects of the Chicago music scene, Ron studied and collected various types of music as a young boy, taking cues from his father who ran a record pool in the late seventies. Later becoming a respected DJ in his early teens in the mid eighties. Ron began to work on his own productions which lead to his first release, the highly recognized classic "Altered States" in 1990, giving him international acclaim.

Atjazz (England)

Martin Iveson moved from the North-East of England to the Midlands city of Derby in 1991 to take a position as in-house musician for the then fledgling video games company that went on to produce the Tomb Raider series of games. Not content with sound tracking one of the world’s biggest computer games, Martin’s passion for music saw him set up his own studio and record label, from which he could give a free rein to his personal music aspirations.

Patrice Scott (Detroit)

Patrice Scott is one of Detroit's top producers of deep house and techno music. Substance, quality, and diversity are the driving forces behind this artist who has touched the world by storm in the early stages of his career. P. Scott has a fascination and desire to be anything but the norm. This fascination began in Detroit, Michigan at the age of 13 while attending a neighborhood party by a local Detroit group who went by the name Sharevari. It was at this time that P. Scott received his first lesson and exposure to what was then called progressive music.

Asok (Liverpool)

DJ/Producer based in Liverpool UK. Runs Scenery and Scenery White record labels, and has released on Mistress, Creme Organization, M>O>S, Lobster Theremin amongst many others.

Keith Worthy (Detroit)

While not always making as much noise as his Motor City compatriots, Keith Worthy has, be it in his guise of DJ, producer or label boss, rightfully held the respect of electronic music fans and figureheads since his early days in East Detroit. His DJ career may stretch back significantly further than his relatively young list of production credits, but his deep, smooth, and often intricately unusual tracks have been garnering praise since they began appearing in 2007.
