The Beginning
It all started with my Classic Rock Facebook page, Name the Player. The format was two college buddies sharing Rock Trivia. Then in the summer of 2014, I discovered Playbuzz and their user friendly formats. In no time at all my page had a cool way to create interesting interactive trivia, videos, and games.
In June, I had my first big hit. It was called "How Well Do You Know the Lyrics to Hotel California?" My ego thought my items would continue to be stellar and that I would be the trivia king of Facebook. However, my follow up items averaged only a few hundred views at the most. I realized that Classic Rock wasn't selling.

Analyze the Competition
On the strength of my only viral item I was invited to join the Playbuzz Communiity page. There I was able share my latest items and get input from Shachar, Lacey, and the staff at Playbuzz Nashville. They gave me many comments, tips, and beta access to new formats. This was a very helpful and useful education.
In March of 2016, my wife and I were enjoying a weekend in Carmel, California. I decided to analyze what Playbuzz items were popular on the internet. I saw that Hidden Pandas, optical illusions, and matching quizzes, were getting huge view numbers. I discovered that longer trivia quizzes were not doing well. I needed to create items that could be played quickly and capture attention spans.

Make A Plan & Set A Goal
I decided to make a plan and set a goal to become the top item creator on Playbuzz. My plan was to use three main formats: Flip Cards, Gallery Quiz, and Video Snaps. I decided to play to my strengths and avoid what was trendy and hip.
Create Create Create!!!
The old adage that "Practice Makes Perfect" may not be totally true but it does help.
1. The first thing you need is an idea or concept. Then I do a search on the Playbuzz Home Page to see if similar items have been created.
2. Look for the best graphics you can find or create them yourself. I spend a lot of time on Goggle, and Getty Images. If you want to create your own graphics, try Pxlr Express, it is a free online service.
3. Create Create Create! I have 345 items and counting.
4. Publish and share. Share to your Facebook page, friends, or embed them on your own web page. You should also make your own profile page using "My Profile" on Playbuzz.com to display your work. Don't forget to post on the Playbuzz Community Page!
