Similar Moments in the "Harry Potter" and "Fantastic Beasts" Films
There are more than a few nods to the "Harry Potter" films in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". These moments made me feel like I was being greeted by an old friend the first time I sat down in a theater to take in Rowling's latest magical story. Here are some examples of those moments.

The Invisible Lollipop Thief
In "Prisoner of Azkaban", Harry snagged a lollipop from Neville while concealed under the invisibility cloak. This scene is echoed in "Fantastic Beasts" when the demiguise pulls a similar stunt on a child who is enjoying the candy while strolling down the sidewalk.
The Hatching Egg
In "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", the trio watch Hagrid's illegally procured dragon hatch from an egg. In "Fantastic Beasts", not only is this imagery duplicated with the hatching Occamy, but the music behind this moment also pays tribute to the original "Harry Potter" films.
"You've got something on your..."
Ron and Newt both try to spare someone the embarrassment of walking around with something on their face. Ron warns Hermione of some butterbeer foam on her lip in "Half-Blood Prince", and Newt lets Tina know she has mustard on her face.
The Awkward Villain Hug
Am I the only one who cringed in both these scenes? Voldemort and GrindelGraves are both incredibly awkward when trying to show affection... Just ask Draco and Credence.
Priori Incantatem
When Tina confronts Graves during the climax of "Fantastic Beasts", their wands connect, looking an awful lot like Priori Incantatem in "Goblet of Fire" and the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort in "Deathly Hallows - Part 2".
The Ministry vs. MACUSA
There are several similar moments between Harry entering the Ministry of Magic for the first time and Newt stepping into MACUSA. First, there are these giant images of Cornelius Fudge and Seraphina Pickery hanging in the atriums.
The Elevators
Once Harry and Newt get through the atriums of these government buildings, they are transported via elevator.
Interdepartmental Memos
Witches and wizards seem to like to use origami to communicate in the workplace. In "Order of the Phoenix", Arthur Weasley explains that the paper airplanes are interdepartmental memos. MACUSA takes a similar but more intricate approach, folding their memos into mice.
Everyone Loves Magic
While the "I wanna be a wizard" line didn't make the final cut of the "Fantastic Beasts" film, it's a sentiment shared in Harry's "I love magic" line in "Goblet of Fire".
