Arthur was born on the 13th May 1842. in London. His father was a military bandmaster, clarinettist and music teacher and this is where Arthur got his inspiration to become a composer in music. Arthur was successful throughout his musical career and was appointed director of the Leeds Festival in 1880. and knighted by The Queen in 22 May 1883. You married in a quiet ceremony in London and had a family together. You lived happily married until his death from a long illness in 1900.

Frederocl Delius was born on the 29th January 1862. He was born into a wealthy family in The North of England . Not wanting to follow in the family footsteps of successful businessmen he was sent to The United States to manage over an orange plantation. While in Florida, he became very passionate about African-American music and this is where his love for music and composing began. You both were married in England but moved to Germany but as soon as the war broke out, you moved again. You both returned to Germany and lived your lives in peace until Frederick died of syphilis in 1934.
