Owl
Owl
You’re an owl! Your chronotype is late type, meaning that you’re more alert later in the day and prefer to go to sleep and wake up late. You’re more likely to experience social jet lag, which happens when your sleeping habits at the weekend are several hours later than during the week (often to make up for lost sleep after going to bed late and waking up early for five days), giving the time-shift effects of jet lag. Irregular hours and frequent sleep deprivation can have detrimental effects on your health. But, by making your sleeping, eating, and exercising habits earlier and more regular, it is possible to reset your body clock to more sociable hours.

Lark
Lark
You’re a lark! Your chronotype is early type, meaning that you’re more alert earlier in the day and prefer to go to sleep and wake up early. Your sleeping habits are more compatible with conventional working hours, which is great news for your daytime alertness. However, adjusting your habits to be very regular is still an option – stabilising your circadian rhythms has benefits for your health, as you’re less likely to develop illnesses such as heart disease and depression.

Intermediate
Intermediate
You’re an intermediate type! You’re not as nocturnal as a night owl, but you’re not as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6am as a lark. Your sleeping habits are in-between early and late, so you have a reasonable but not too high chance of experiencing social jet lag at least occasionally. By regulating your lifestyle, you can stabilise your circadian rhythms to increase your alertness and reduce your chances of experiencing illnesses such as heart disease and depression.
