You're very privileged
You're very privileged
You're very privileged. Whether you feel privileged or not, your life has likely been easier than a lot of other people's. You may have had situations that felt like setbacks, but, for the most part, you have not experienced some of the institutional obstacles that many others have.
Having privilege isn't a bad thing. When you use your privilege to advocate for others, you can help elevate diverse voices and that's what really counts.

You're not "privileged" in the traditional sense. You've had to overcome a lot of institutional hardships to get to where you are. Not having traditional markers of privilege means that you're used to navigating a world where, because of your race, religion, sexual orientation, or economic background, life has not always been the easiest for you.
You're no victim, though. You probably use whatever platforms you have to advocate for people like you and speak truth to power.

You've navigated the world with a fair amount of privilege. You've also had some experiences where your race, religion, sexual orientation, or economic background has meant you haven't had the same opportunities as others.
Having the privilege you DO have means that you may be in a position to help others and amplify marginalized voices.
