Elvis Presley

The undisputed King of Rock and Roll was a huge law enforcement fanboy, known for his collection of police badges. In 1970 Elvis decided he had to own a badge from the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs in Washington, D.C. He drafted a letter to President Nixon offering to help him in any way, asking only for the badge in return and hopped on a plane to the capital. Elvis got his badge that day, and he stayed long enough to show Nixon his police officer badge collection.

Although not exactly a badge-wearing, gun-toting officer with a beat, this iconic "Saturday Night Live" alum, and star of "Ghostbusters" and "Blues Brothers" did once hold an honorary police commission in Louisiana. However, when the Harahan Police Department got a new chief in 2011, Aykroyd happily returned his badge upon learning that he’d have to train as a reserve officer and provide 24 hours of service every month.

4

The dashingly handsome motorcycle cop from the 1980's TV series "CHiPs" is still doing good, currently acting as a reserve police officer in a small town of 3,500 residents in southern Idaho. On July 1, 2016, Estrada was sworn into office with the goal of helping to protect children in St. Anthony from internet predators. Back in 2009, Estrada was a full-time deputy sheriff in Bedford County, Virginia.

6

David Zayas

Actor and producer Zayas may be best remembered as Homicide Lieutenant Angel Batista on "Dexter." After joining the United States Air Force at age 19, David Zayas was a police officer with the NYPD for almost 15 years. Needless to say, this experience has served him very well in his career as both a character actor and a lead character where he’s often found in the role of a law enforcement officer.

7

Dennis Farina

Remember Farina from his long list of film and television credits? This prolific Italian-American actor was a Chicago police officer and detective for 18 years.

8

Ken Osmond

And then there’s the incorrigible and irrepressible Eddie Haskell of "Leave it to Beaver" fame. Ken Osmond played the Beave’s buddy and then went on to join the Los Angeles Police Department as a motorcycle cop and vice officer. His bulletproof vest spared him from death in a 1980 shootout. When he was shot chasing a suspect a month later, he took some downtime after which he retired from the force for good.
