Hermione Granger was a Muggle-born witch born to Mr and Mrs Granger, both dentists in London. Hermione was raised as a Muggle girl until, at age eleven, she learned that she was a witch and had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She began attending the school on 1 September, 1991, where she was subsequently sorted into Gryffindor House, despite having the choice to be in Ravenclaw. She possessed a brilliant academic mind, and proved to be a gifted student in almost every subject that she studied. She was very studious and bookish. In her seventh year she did not go to Hogwarts and instead aided Harry Potter on his hunt for Horcruxes. After the Battle Of Hogwarts she married Ron Weasley and had two children Hugo and Rose

After the end of the Second Wizarding War, Ginny and Harry Potter rekindled their romance. She became a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies for several years, and at some point she and Harry got married. Ginny then retired in either 2002 or 2003 and the couple had a family. She gave birth to three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. She later became the senior Quidditch correspondent for the Daily Prophet.

After leaving Hogwarts, Tonks joined the Ministry of Magic and trained to become an Auror under the watchful eye of Alastor Moody, qualifying in 1994. In 1995, she joined the second Order of the Phoenix, working undercover in the Ministry and helping to guard the Department of Mysteries. In June of 1996, she fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and at some point fell in love with Remus Lupin. Remus, a werewolf, felt he was too poor, old, and dangerous for her and thus rejected her feelings, although he felt the same way. In the wake of the return of Lord Voldemort, Tonks was assigned to Hogsmeade as part of the Auror task force sent to guard Hogwarts. Tonks later fought in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and, after seeing the love Fleur Delacour held for Bill Weasley despite his injuries, publicly declared her love for Remus. Tonks and Remus were married in the summer of 1997. Tonks became pregnant shortly after, and Remus began to worry that he had passed on his werewolf condition to his son, though this proved not to be the case (Teddy inherited his mother's metamorphic abilities). Tonks gave birth to a son, Teddy Remus Lupin (named after her late father Edward Tonks), shortly after Easter in 1998 and named Harry Potter the godfather. On 2 May of that same year, Tonks fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and was murdered by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange, a Death Eater and a loyal and devoted servant of Lord Voldemort and was avenged by her order colleague and friend Molly Weasley.

Petunia Dursley was a Muggle, the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs Evans and the sister of the Muggle-born witch Lily. During her childhood, she broke off contact with her sister and refused to have any contact with the wizarding world. She married a Muggle, Vernon Dursley and they had a son, Dudley. However, when Lily was murdered by Voldemort, Petunia became guardian of her nephew, Harry Potter, who was only an infant then. She neglected him for the most part, and confined him to sleep in the cupboard under the stairs (although she allowed him a room of his own after receiving his acceptance letters to Hogwarts). In 1991, when Rubeus Hagrid came and said that Harry would go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she became very angry. She and her family left their home in 1997 in order to be protected from Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

Molly Weasley was a pure-blood witch and the matriarch of the Weasley family. She is married to Arthur Weasley. She was born into the Prewett family, and was sister to Fabian and Gideon Prewett, members of the original Order of the Phoenix. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was Sorted into Gryffindor House. Sometime after she graduated both her brothers were murdered by Death Eaters in the First Wizarding War. Molly and Arthur had seven children; Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny Weasley. Molly was a member of the revived Order of the Phoenix following the return of Lord Voldemort and participated in the final battle of the Second Wizarding War, causing her to be known for bringing the downfall of Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange.

Cho Chang was a witch who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1990-1997 and was sorted into Ravenclaw House. She was a Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and a popular student. In Cho's fifth year, she began dating Cedric Diggory while he was a Champion in the Triwizard Tournament. Cedric became one of the first casualties of the Second Wizarding War. He was murdered by Peter Pettigrew on Lord Voldemort's order in June of 1995. His death greatly upset Cho and made her determined to fight against the recently returned Dark Lord.
