Lancaster
Lancaster
You got the House of Lancaster!
Led by Queen Margaret of Anjou, this house is defending their rightful place on the throne. So what is the king is out of it sometimes, your queen knows how to rule and she’s not backing down! You know succession legally passes through the male heirs, otherwise the Yorks would have already been in power. Your symbol is the red rose, and you just want the Yorks to back off so you can run your country without all this fighting. The Lancasters lose the throne in the end, but come back into power through Henry Tudor, whose line stems from the Lancaster line.
York
York
You got the House of York!
Led by Richard, the Duke of York, you believed that the throne belonged to the York because you had the better claim-the daughter of the second son of Edward III. Richard, as Lord Protector, was already doing the king’s job during his frequent periods of infirmity. Why should someone so incapable of ruling stay on the throne when there’s a much more capable successor right here? Your symbol is the white rose, and you just want a ruler who can lead and not be manipulated by his advisors! The Yorks win the throne and rule until Henry Tudor’s revolt sets him in power, but he later marries Elizabeth of York so it’s all okay.
Tudor
Tudor
You got the House of Tudor!
Led by Henry Tudor, you think all this fighting is stupid. They both come from the House of Plantagenet, after all! After the war, you revolt and put the Tudors in power, who come from the Lancaster line. To keep the fighting from starting again, Henry marries Elizabeth of York, so that both Houses are on the throne. That wasn’t so hard, was it? I mean, you just united the groups that waged an entire war and solved the succession problem, no big deal. Oh, and you made sure it wasn’t going to happen again any time soon by eliminating other claimants to the throne. Either us Tudors are geniuses or everyone else is an idiot, because how else were we able to unite everyone so easily? Our symbol is the Tudor rose, which combines (unites) the red rose of Lancaster and the White rose of York. The Tudors stay on the throne until 1603, when Elizabeth I dies.
