Louis Walsh's X Factor best bits

Louis's catchphrases are as much a part of the show as the X logo itself. Without him we're literally going to have no idea – NO IDEA – who everyone is a young version of. Or whether they're going to be the Next. Big. Pop. Star. We might as well stop watching.

Ah, the frustrated pleas of "I need a decision, Louis", "make the call, Louis", and "I need a name, Louis". There should have been a red button option to hear what was being yelled into Dermot's ear as the end of the show's broadcast neared and Mr Walsh was yet to make up his mind.

When Louis had the giggles, he really had the giggles.

There have been plenty of water fights on the X Factor panel over the years, but Sharon Osbourne's reaction to Louis's mention of her husband Ozzy during the 2005 series is the classic. One glass really wouldn't do...

The X Factor is going to miss these bad boys. Usually reserved for the live shows, Louis's sartorial efforts were the perfect counterbalance to Mr Cowell's open shirts...

Louis always knew just what to say when fans declared their love for him. Actually, he didn't, but the production team certainly knew only the Titanic theme song would do for such occasions.

Sure there are plenty of tears on X Factor, but Louis's cut the deepest. Case in point: when he had to choose between Scott Burton and Daniel Evans in 2008. Pass the tissues.

Louis came out with some classics during his 11-year run. Our favourite? "I don't think you're the full package" to a singer with notably tight trousers...

And what else could we end on but Louis's apparent inability to hide his shock when someone went through who he didn't think should have. Ah, it's been a laugh, Louis.
