Futuristic Living in Sri Lanka

Remember the days when Pittu Bambuwa (good old BOC with a height of 105 meters) was the only skyscraper in the bustling commercial capital? Nostalgia hits you, right? And even before Pittu Bambuwa, the Ceylinco Seylan Building (76m) was there, since 1960s. The Bambalapitiya Tower Building was completed in 1980 for residential purposes. Then there was UDA Scheme Tower, purely built for residential purposes, in 1985 and 100 meters tall. Pittu Bambuwa arrived next, cementing the top place in Colombo skyline. That was, until, the two towers of World Trade Center were completed in 1996, both 152 meters tall. In the near future, Colombo skyline is going to be more populated. Now before that happens let's go on a trip around Colombo to see the existing and upcoming towers of Colombo.

Then there was Hilton Residencies, built in 1997 with a height of 129 meters which still earns a place in top ten tallest buildings in Sri Lanka. Hilton Residencies are used for both commercial and residential purposes offering breathtaking views of the capital and limitless nothingness: the Indian Ocean.

Today, we have Colombo Lotus Tower, currently 255 meters tall which is going to be 350 meters tall upon completion and regarded as the tallest building in South Asia. And let’s not forget about The Altair Project either which is going to be 240m tall with 68 stories upon completion. And everything here is for residential use and going to be one of the luxury skyline apartments in Sri Lanka. With the unique architectural design of Altair, it would surely stand out in Colombo Skyline.

What else would stand out in Colombo Skyline, is, Grand Hyatt Colombo with 47 stories.
