What Haunted House Would you Die in?

Hill House from The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. It is an 80 year old mansion haunted by Hugo Crane. The house drives you insane and then possesses you, especially if you are weak willed or naive and innocent. The heroine of this novel drove her car into an oak tree.

The Belasco House is from Hell House by Richard Matheson. It is an old house, at least sixty years. It resides next to the Bastard Bog where bastard children were drowned. A crazed sadist sexual predator haunts the house as well as his many victims. The ghosts corrupt the good nature of people before destroying them, mentally and physically.

The normal country home in Virginia with the hallway that goes miles and miles in the cold dark and drives people insane. There might be a monster, or maybe not, but the house has a mind of it's own, creating dark rooms and endless staircases. House of Leaves is by Mark Z. Danielawski

The Amityville House, there is a lot of speculation on whether this is a true story or not. The house is a Dutch Colonial in New York. A family was slaughtered there because evil turns people crazy. Thousands of flies, red eyed pigs and insanity are just some of the things you can expect in your new home. The rumors are that the Red Room in the basement leads to a portal to hell.

The Overlook Hotel is from the Shining by Stephen King and based on a real haunted hotel; The Stanley. The Overlook is a giant hotel haunted by the many suicides and other unsavory people, like a man who killed his whole family. Because of its secluded nature the hotel and its ghosts tend to drive the caretakers crazy.
