Zabu (the tiger) and Cameron (the lion) were bred for one reason; to make Ligers.

Not a good reason to cage wild animals.

Zabu is a white tiger, and has several genetic defects due to her breeding. Cameron was 200lbs underweight when they were both rescued.

Just chilling out, enjoying the grass.

The pair were rescued from the Zoo by Big Cat Rescue a few years ago, and are utterly inseparable.

They even like to cuddle!

Big Cat Rescue created an idyllic enclosure for them, because they were not suited for release back into the wild. Cameron however, was becoming very protective of his mate, and putting his keepers at risk.

200lbs underweight is still a big darn lion.

His keepers had two choices; separate him from Zabu forever, or neuter him. They went with neutering.

"You got something in your ear!"
"STAHP! people are watching!"

Cameron has calmed down immensely, though he lost his mane in the process. Still, he seems happy to make the trade so that he can stay with the love of his life.

Honestly, this is so cute it's painful.

Zabu doesn't seem to mind her beau is missing some hair! That's true love, right there! Can you feel the love tonight?
