Transformers: The Last Knight
The excitement of Hollywood flooded into the North East in 2016 when producers chose Alnwick and Newcastle to shoot scenes for the latest Transformers film.
Passersby grabbed selfies of stars Mark Wahlberg and Sir Anthony Hopkins during breaks in filming. The film opens later this year.
Harry Potter
One of the biggest series of films ever made - and the North East got a big slice of the action, with Durham Cathedral and Alnwick Castle used in the production.
Alnwick Castle has been used in countless films, including The Spaceman and King Arthur, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Ridley Scott's Robin Hood and Elizabeth - as well as TV programmes such as Blackadder.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
One of the film's most memorable scenes made this tree on Hadrian's Wall one of the world's most recognisable pieces of flora.
The namesake tree of Sycamore Gap was voted Tree of the Year for 2016, some 25 years after Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman fought Guy of Gisbourne's men around it.
