Which is your favorite route?
Lynn Swann
Lynn Swann
You would connect best with Lynn Swann. One of the original superstar receivers, Swann used his balance and all-time great hands to bedevil defenders. He didn't need a rah-rah coach to get him going and excelled with a quarterback featuring less-than-ideal accuracy in Terry Bradshaw. He wouldn't shy away from unorthodox methods to improve his game, once taking a ballet class to develop his footwork.
Jerry Rice
Jerry Rice
Your favorite target is Jerry Rice, arguably the best to have ever done it. The NFL's all-time touchdown leader excelled by outworking his competition and came to the 49ers after they traded up to get him in the draft. His incredible route-running as well as strong rapports with Joe Montana and Steve Young helped keep him churning out historic seasons well into his 30s. And while not the best public speaker, Rice has been known to drop in a solid one-liner or two.
Wes Welker
Wes Welker
You'd work best with Wes Welker. Never fitting the classic wideout profile, the diminutive Welker would make you look good with his pristine route-running in the slot. His work ethic on the tedium that is getting open created some of the greatest receiving seasons ever, and although undrafted, Welker also helped make himself stand out with a dry wit that kept Tom Brady and Peyton Manning on their toes.
Calvin Johnson
Calvin Johnson
You would enjoy throwing to Calvin Johnson. The modern prototype for a receiver, Megatron's used a once-in-a-generation set of skills to become one of the 21st century's greatest receivers. Excellent at outleaping defenders for touchdown grabs, Johnson came into the league as a top-5 draft pick and hasn't needed much razzle-dazzle to stand out like some of his peers. The work speaks for itself.
Terrell Owens
Terrell Owens
You'd find Terrell Owens often. Not exactly one for team play or sportsmanship, T.O. was hard to miss during his prime. Arguably playing with more strength than any receiver in history, Owens backed up his diva reputation and could run the entire route tree. He enjoys his own company and needed to be carefully managed, however.
Randy Moss
Randy Moss
You'd locate Randy Moss frequently. Perhaps the most talented wideout ever, Moss displayed his otherworldly athleticism and nose for the ball on great teams. Although he had scant interest in blocking and would disappear when things weren't going well, he could run a "go" route better than anyone. Yeah, he'll pretend to moon people and possibly hit meter maids with his car, but wasn't his talent worth the trouble?
