The Department of Education, in an attempt to share a quote about education, misspelled the name of its author, W. E. B. Du Bois, who was, it should be noted during Black History Month, the first black man to receive a doctorate degree from Harvard University, co-founder of the NAACP, and a prominent leader in the Civil Rights movement.

And if you thought that misspelling Du Bois' name was bad enough, their apology also featured a glaring typo, which has now been corrected but originally looked like this:
Although the Education Department claims that a longtime employee was to blame for the error and not DeVos, this was one of the first tweets the Department of Education had sent out since the appointment of Betsy DeVos to the post of Secretary of Education, who was so unpopular that the Senate split evenly and the tie had to be broken by Vice President Mike Pence, a truly historic incident.
