In one of the the areas hardest hit by the massive wildfire, firefighters who were battling the Valley Fire found a black cat who managed to survive on his own through the blaze.

Vets at the Wasson Memorial Veterinary Clinic quickly set about treating the cat for his injuries, inserting a feeding tube to feed him & applying burn cream to his face and body.

In this major Valley Fire, countless animals have been injured or displaced — though like this cat, they aren't necessarily without care. His is a story of hope.
