Some may say it’s Fall, others may say it’s Autumn. Of course both are correct. But why do you we have two names for this same season?

Before 1500, the season was known as some form of “harvest,” because, of course, agriculture was the dominant profession.

In the 1500's “autumn” was borrowed from the Old French “autompne” “Fall” arose at the time the British set out to the New World.
