Shawn Spencer
Shawn Spencer
Shawn is above all else attention-seeking. All of his "episodes" need to have an audience, although this may be due to the fact that an audience acts as a witness for his psychic abilities, in order to prove that he is not lying. He is (usually) never seen alone. Eccentric and outgoing, Shawn also seems to be able to draw people to him, leading to fast friendships, such as in "Lights, Camera... Homicidio", when he befriends one of the actors in a matter of hours, to which Juliet questions how he can make friends so fast. Shawn also talks way too much, usually showing disregard for serious matters/situations or running his mouth in the face of a criminal who would rather Shawn stay quiet. Sometimes this trait saves his life while he stalls for time, and other times jeopardize it. He also has a very high opinion of his hair.
Using his "gift," Shawn has no problem with being slightly manipulative, frequently lying to others about who he is or telling people what they want to hear based off of his observations of them. This often leads to trouble, especially when his ruse is found out. (CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Shawn_Spencer)
Burton Guster
Burton Guster
Gus has been a partner to the impulsive adventures of his best friend Shawn Spencer since they were kids. It gets him into plenty of trouble, which may be why he keeps trying to convince himself that the straight and narrow--a job as a pharmaceutical sales rep, a 401(k), and a regular paycheck of $48,000--is right where he belongs. After all, he is a "sympathetic crier" who enjoys softer interests and doesn't like heights, planes, corpses, or jumpsuits. He also has two left knees. So being part of psychic investigations isn't his idea of fun...and it brings him closer to realizing his fear that the story of Gus ends in a tragic, wrongful conviction.(CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Burton_%22Gus%22_Guster)
Carlton Lassiter
Carlton Lassiter
Carlton is hard on everyone, including himself. His no-nonsense and sour approach to a harsh life is used to protect himself from getting hurt, and his attitude with which he battles his low self-esteem. Fortunately, those few friends are loyal, and know how to see and bring out the best sides hiding in Lassie, behind all the pompous put-downs and sour expressions. Behind the grumpy and ruff exterior is a sensitive and sweet soul, often very caring and insecure. He is occasionally doing good deeds, but very subtle ones. Examples of this are that he'd take a bullet for his partner, or arrange the paperwork to get Shawn's impounded motorcycle returned. He's also quirky and has understated humor – as is often demonstrated in his various hobbies and side activities. Lassiter can be rather arrogant and believes he is viewed with far greater respect than he truly is.(CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Carlton_Lassiter)
Juliet O'hara
Juliet O'hara
Juliet seems to present a gentle counterpoint to Lassiter's gruff, rigid style. She reminds her partner repeatedly to "be sensitive" with the media, the victims, and the witnesses of their cases. She has shown that she cares for her partner by helping Shawn solve a case for him (in order to get him back on his feet when he was upset about his separation with his wife), by refusing to believe that he has died in the episode Lassie Jerky and also through little things, like trying to arrange a birthday party for him. Juliet also showed that she cared for Carlton's well-being when she allowed his girlfriend, Marlowe, to live with her and Shawn in order to allow Carlton to be with her more often. On the other hand, she has also been very competitive with him, like the time when they were trying to prove who was better based on their scores on the detective exam (Juliet scored 98.4%, taking the exam in Miami, to Lassie's 97.2%, although Shawn rather killed the debate by revealing that he had, at age 15, scored a perfect 100% on the test). She also has a strong friendship with Lassiter, who acts like a brother towards her.(CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Juliet_O%27Hara)
Henry Spencer
Henry Spencer
Retired cop Henry Spencer (aka "Old Scratch Johnson" "Popeye Doyle" or "Big Old Papa Monkey") is a fan of Jersey Shore yet makes no bones about his contempt for Shawn's new business venture. After years spent training his son to observe and analyze like a detective, Henry can't believe that Shawn would squander his enormous talent only to take his place at the bottom of the law enforcement food chain as a psychic. Shawn's rebellious streak was also partly caused by Henry; his tendencies for control, as well as his constant training, deprived Shawn of a real childhood and it resulted in a backlash of rebellion. Shawn believed that Henry was the parent who wanted the divorce, and Henry never told Shawn otherwise. Henry has still shown interest in his ex-wife, even though he has also shown interest in other women. Having spent many years as a veteran, and well-seasoned cop, he prompted to train Shawn in case of any emergencies as well as teach him to be an excellent cop.(CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Henry_Spencer)
Karen Vick
Karen Vick
Police Chief Karen Vick worked alongside Shawn Spencer's father, Henry, during his days on the force. While she may not be entirely sold on Shawn's strengths as a medium, she admires his moxie, as well as the fact that Shawn, like his father, delivers results. Karen is married with an unnamed son and one daughter, Iris, who was born during "Shawn vs. The Red Phantom". She also has a sister, Barbara Dunlap, who made an appearance in "There Might Be Blood" and it is shown that she had a sibling rivalry with Barbara. Karen was interim police chief until "Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead", in which she is promoted to full-time chief and remains at the station, only due to the fact that Shawn was able to unearth and disseminate a scandal about the man who was supposed to take her place.(CITED FROM http://psychusa.wikia.com/wiki/Karen_Vick)
