It reached a maximum speed of 641 km/h at 32,810 feet. The turbochargers were variable and the advanced Su-1 was designated the Su-3 with a revised wing. The project was abandoned and the Su-3 never flew.

Su-5

The Sukhoi Su-5 was a Soviet mixed- power (propeller and motor jet) prototype fighter built near the end of the war. The Su-5 could reach speeds of up to 793 km/h at 14,270 feet. Due to many engine failure problems this project was also cancelled.

4

Su-6

The Sukhoi Su-6 was developed as an armored attack aircraft; however it was dependent on the availability of the M-71 engine. The Su-6 was equipped with the M-71 engine which was faster than enemy fighters.

6

Su-8

The Sukhoi-8 made its first flight in 1943. Its maximum speed was 550 km/h.

7

Su-9

The Sukhoi Su-9, NATO name FISHPOT, was a single engine, all weather, missile armed interceptor aircraft developed by the Soviet Union. The design was called FITTER-B. Total production was over 1100 aircraft.

The Sukhoi Su-24 FENCER is an all-weather interdiction and attack aircraft which is still operational. The two seat, twin engine Su-24 was equipped with the USSRs integrated digital NAV/ATTACK system. Over 1400 were built and it remains in service.
Maximum speed is reported at 1440 mph, Mach 2.18 at altitude, and a ceiling of 57,000 ft. Later modifications required name changes to FENCER A, B, C and D. It is planned to be replaced by the Su-34.

11

Su-24MK

The Sukhoi- 24MK made its first flight in 1987. It has a maximum speed of 1313 km/h. It was equipped with air-to-air missiles KAB- 500 KP, KAB- 500L and aviation bombs.
