1

Ham and Banana Hollandaise

In theory, all of these things separately would be delicious! But together, maybe not so much. But I would give it a try, ham tastes good on pretty much anything! And with a rich hollandaise sauce on top you can't really go wrong!

2

Liver Sausage Pineapple

This may look like a pineapple, but underneath is a loaf of liver and sausage mixed with mayonnaise, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce, set into a pineapple jelly mold and then iced with sugary yellow icing. Some people have described this to be the worst recipe ever and they would be right. The sugary icing off set with the savoury, salty liver is not so pleasant.

3

Frosted Ribbon Loaf

This one doesn't look too bad actually. It's basically a sandwich loaf with relish, egg salad and ham frosted with cream cheese on the outside. I would totally eat this. What puts me off is the amount of cream cheese wrapped around each sandwich. But other than that, bon appetit!

4

Lime Cheese Salad

So this isn't so much a salad as it is vomit solidified. Lime jello is combined with vinegar, onion and hot water. Then cottage cheese and mayonnaise is folded in to form the jellied salad. Seafood salad is used to garnish this monstrosity of a "salad." I dunno about you but lime and cheese don't go together in the first place let alone lime jello, let alone cottage cheese, let alone mayonnaise mixed in, let alone putting seafood on top. I don't understand this recipe, and I probably never will.

5

Seven Layer Salad

This one actually totally gets a pass from me. Green onions, yes, sour cream, yes, cheese, yes, tomatoes, yes, bacon, yes, hard boiled eggs, yup, ice berg lettuce, mhm. It's like the inside of a taco but without the shell and add mayonnaise of course.

6

Spam and Lima Beans

If you ever wanted to make Spam worse than it is, swirl in some lima beans. But upon thinking about this one, beans and ham isn't too bad of a combination. If you're someone who likes Spam, then you might actually not mind this dish.

7

Jellied Chicken Salad

Well, this is exactly what you think it is. It's shredded chicken jellied in a gelatin mold. Doesn't sound horrible, but my only thing would be eating cold chicken that jiggles right in front of me wouldn't be super appetizing.

8

Christmas Candle Salad

This is just a feat of creativity. Candles are made with banana, an almond wick and mayonnaise to look like melted wax. Cherry jello is used to make fancy candy bases. This salad is fun...but I mean I'd probably just eat the cherry jello things and jet.

9

Fiesta Peach Spam Bake

I'm not totally rejecting this one. Spam, which has ham in it plus peaches seems okay. I mean people combine pineapple and ham so how bad could this be. It looks like a toasty warm dish to have in the winter time or for a holiday.

10

Mayonnaise Jello

I don't know what the fascination was with mayonnaise and Jello in the 50's but it was rampant! This "salad," is jello with mayonnaise and other flavourings like vinegar, sugar and chopped veggies to making a complete veggie salad. If I had to eat this I'd be very weary.

11

Veg-All Pie Plate Salad

I just don't know what to say about this one. First of all the vegetables are canned and then they are being further preserved in the lemon gelatine. It's like eating all those vegetables you always left on your plate but cold and in a gelatine pie topped with tartar sauce. Hmmm, maybe not today.

12

Tomato Banana Tarts

Haha these are just hilarious. Tomato halves topped with sliced bananas. and mayonnaise and what looks to be some sort of chopped nut. I mean if you like tomatoes and you like bananas, there should be nothing wrong here. Do they have to put mayonnaise on everything though?

13

Canned Hamburgers

Instead of eating a fresh hamburger, Swift is suggesting that you can eat a hamburger, canned! I don't mind processed meats, and if you cook them they could be good. But why go canned when you have a regular burger just waiting for you at the five and dime.

14

Shrimp Orange Walnut Cocktail

This one looks pretty gourmet, I like shrimp cocktails and believe a lot of different flavours can be combined with shrimp. I don't think this would be half bad since seafood goes well with orange and even nuts sometimes.

15

Olive Topped Hot Dogs

Sure, if you want to go through al the trouble of expertly placing 3 olives on a hot dog then go ahead. Your guests will be mildly impressed?
