Sloth may be a Fratelli, but he has a heart of gold. After a very rough childhood and a life spent in captivity with his terrible brothers and mean mom, you’d think Sloth would be bitter. But he’s extremely loyal to his Goonie comrades and helps them escape his demented family.

Jock, Casanova and smooth-talker. Brand is all of these things. He likes pumping iron, his red bandana and his girlfriend Andy. Sure, he may give his younger brother Mikey a hard time, but he’s just watching out for him. Brand acts tough, but he really cares about his younger Goonies and the Goondocks.

Mama Fratelli is not warm and fuzzy. In fact, she might optimistically be described as a heartless, kid-hating sociopath. She leads two of her sons in criminal activities, and keeps her third son chained up in a basement. Not exactly the nicest person in the world. Perhaps one of her quotes from early on in the movie sums up her thoughts about the Goonies, “Kids suck.”
