You're a permissive parent! As a permissive parent you always want to be the good guy. If you're this type of parent your children wouldn't have bed times or strict rules set in place. This can make you seem like an easy going parent, but it reality it could be harmful as your child grows and starts participating in activities they shouldn't. Growing up without rules, a young child might grow to not listen and go against their parents' rules/warnings.
Authoritarian Parent
Authoritarian Parent
You're an authoritarian type of parent! An authoritarian parent is a strict parent. You believe that your children should follow all the rules that you create without questioning. When they ask you why, you rarely reply with anything other than "I said so"
Strongly based on obedience, families with these types of parents lack communication with their children. Usually a therapist is involved to have parents and children talk about something other than rules and expectations.
Authoritative Parent
Authoritative Parent
You are an authoritative parent! You're the type of parent everyone strives to be. You have rules but your children understand why those rules exist. Open communication is a big deal between you and your children, keeping it a very healthy household. Good job (:
Uninvolved Parent
Uninvolved Parent
You're an uninvolved parent! Uninvolved parents are also described as neglectful. Even if it's not intentional, you are not a part of your child's life. Most commonly the parents are full working parents who don't have time to talk to their child about their life. Sometimes you would even forget to make dinner, making your child go to sleep hungry. This is the type of parenting you want to stay away from.
