Which 'Pastel Goth' artist should you listen to?
The definition of Pastel Goth music that I use here is music that draws both light and dark elements in lyrics and instrumental production, with an overall sound that fits the Pastel Goth aesthetic.
Not including artists that only have one album or a few songs that fit the 'pastel goth' label. These are artists that you may or may not have heard of.

Melanie Martinez
Melanie Martinez
You've definitely heard of her as she is currently the biggest artist from this genre with two highly successful albums and a movie.
Pastel music, dark lyrics and a pretty voice. Attracting fans from the pop community and the goth community together.
The Birthday Massacre
The Birthday Massacre
On the darker spectrum of pastel goth, blending heavy rock with fairy-like music and pretty girlish vocals that sometimes go rough.
Their entire discography of eight albums is strong, and starting from the beginning you can hear their full evolution. But first listening to Hide and Seek is a good move if you are coming from the pastel side.
Mars Argo
Mars Argo
Pastel punk princess, with a girlish voice over grungy music. Unfortunately her music has not been active in several years (catch up with the Mars Argo Lawsuit if you haven't heard) but she has promised to return solo soon!
Most of the songs remain on Youtube.
Digital Daggers
Digital Daggers
Possibly the most underrated of this genre. Deep intense lyrics, smooth production with a bright voice. This duo has probably featured with songs on your favourite TV show already. They have 3 albums and several stand-alone singles. I can't even recommend a place to start because it's all thoroughly amazing.
Purity Ring
Purity Ring
Once you hear their lyrics, you'll understand that they definitely belong in the pastel goth genre, and even bring a new element to it. They have an overall bright sound with the music ranging from dream pop to heavy electro. It sounds amazing when blasting through headphones. Their music shakes your soul awake, and maybe that's what you need right now.
Sky Ferreira
Sky Ferreira
If pastel goth existed in the 80's, it would have sounded like Sky Ferreira's music. It's grungy, with touches of electro, invoking a dark pop energy that definitely fits well within pastel (light) and goth (dark). She has one album out- Night Time My Time, and more coming on the horizon.
