This vessel has many quad turbolasers and lasercannons., however its main weapon is its enormous fighter capacity, an estimated 1,000 fighters. It's shields and armor are powerful, but not equal to Star Destroyer shielding and armor. Although they were mostly abandoned after the Clone Wars, the Rebel Alliance and the Empire had both found use of some as warships.
